Expert Care for Facial Fractures, injuries (cuts) and Dental Emergencies at Sanghvi Face & Dental Hospital
Accidents, sports injuries, interpersonal violence or falls can cause sudden and distressing injuries to the face and teeth. Managing Maxillofacial Trauma requires a delicate balance between restoring function (chewing, breathing, and speaking) and ensuring the best possible aesthetic outcome.
At Sanghvi Face & Dental Hospital, led by Dr. Darshan Sanghvi (MDS)—a consultant at Rajasthan Hospital and a specialist in Maxillofacial Surgery—we provide 24/7 emergency expertise for both hard and soft tissue facial injuries.
1. Dental Trauma (Injuries to the Teeth)
A dental emergency can happen in a split second. Whether a tooth is chipped or completely knocked out, immediate action is vital.
- Avulsed (Knocked-out) Tooth: If a tooth is knocked out, keep it moist in milk or saline and visit us within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of re-implantation.
- Luxation (Dislodged Tooth): When a tooth is pushed sideways or out of its socket. We perform precise “Splinting” to stabilize the tooth while the bone heals.
- Fractured Teeth: From minor enamel chips to deep root fractures, we provide restorative solutions including bonding, crowns, or surgical removal if necessary.
- Facial Hard Tissue Trauma (Bone Fractures)
Fractures of the facial bones require the expertise of a Maxillofacial Surgeon to ensure the jaw aligns perfectly and the facial structure is preserved.
- Mandibular Fractures (Lower Jaw): Common in road accidents or sports. Treatment often involves ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) using mini-plates to secure the bone.
- Maxillary & Zygomatic Fractures: Fractures of the upper jaw or cheekbones. We focus on restoring facial symmetry and preventing long-term sinus or vision issues.
- Nasal & Orbital Fractures: Specialist care to repair the delicate bones of the nose and eye sockets.
- Facial Soft Tissue Trauma (Lacerations & Injuries)
Injuries to the skin, lips, or gums require meticulous “Plastic Closure” to minimize scarring.
- Lacerations: We use fine, cosmetic suturing techniques to repair cuts on the face.
- Nerve & Duct Injuries: Specialized repair for injuries affecting the facial nerves or salivary ducts.
- Intra-oral Tears: Expert suturing of the tongue, cheeks, and gums to ensure rapid healing and prevent infection.
Our Trauma Treatment Protocol
- Emergency Assessment: Checking for airway stability and neurological status.
- Advanced Imaging: Using digital X-rays or CT scans to map the exact location of fractures.
- Surgical Intervention: Dr. Darshan Sanghvi uses minimally invasive approaches (often through the mouth) to avoid visible external scars on the face.
- Rehabilitation: Post-surgical care to ensure the “bite” (occlusion) is perfect and facial movements are natural.

FAQs(Facial Injuries Treatment )
As a Maxillofacial specialist, Dr. Darshan Sanghvi utilizes “aesthetic lines” and internal incisions whenever possible. Our goal is to make the surgical marks virtually invisible once healed.
Pick the tooth up by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently with water, and try to place it back in the socket. If you can’t, put it in a container of cold milk and rush to our Naranpura clinic immediately. Time is the most critical factor.
Most facial fractures require 4 to 6 weeks to heal completely. During this time, you may be on a soft-food diet to prevent pressure on the surgical site.
